Original Concept Awards represent the realm of truly one-of-a-kind recognition awards that do not yet exist, requiring special sizes, shapes, or materials. Beginning with a consultation, we craft your vision into a bespoke design, involving your feedback at every step. This includes detailed drawings, specifications, and pricing for your approval before production.

Please note that crafting Original Concept Awards takes time (8 to 12 weeks) due to their from-scratch design and testing process. This may involve multiple revisions, prototypes, and unique fabrication needs. Tailored presentation boxes could also affect costs. Hence, many prefer our House Collection for similar outcomes at a fraction of the expense.

Two initial Original Concept Award designs based on your vision and instructions
Up to 5 free design revisions of one Original Concept Award design
One set of final to-scale specification drawings
A price quote that is valid for 3 months
$250 credit towards the production of any custom pieces (must be used within 6 months)

How much do Original Concept Awards cost?

Once we’ve gone through the design process to determine the specifications of your Original Concept Awards, we can provide you with an exact price based on the quantity that you need. However, if you are looking for an estimate beforehand, you can use these numbers as a guideline.

1-24 pieces: starting at $500 each
25-49 pieces: starting at $400 each
50-99 pieces: starting at $350 each
100-249 pieces: starting at $250 each
250+ pieces: starting at $175 each

These are the minimum prices that will apply to each quantity level and the final prices will vary according to the materials, size, complexity and lead time of your order.

Step 1:

Order the Original Concept Award Design Package online

Step 2:

Complete our Original Concept Award Intake Form to provide additional details about your project such as budget, sketches, graphics, and text you’d like to include. Fill in what you can at this point and our team will assist you with the rest.

Step 3:

Once we have received your order and details, the information will be reviewed and we will reach out to you for a consultation to learn more about your project and vision.

Step 4:

Our designers will create two original award concepts for you to review based on the instructions you provided in the consultation. Choose your preferred design concept then we will refine and develop it further until we have arrived at a custom award perfectly suited for your event or special occasion.

Step 5:

Once the details of your Original Concept Award Design have been finalized, such as size, materials, decorative options, and quantity, we will provide you a quote that is valid for 3 months.

Other Considerations For Designing Original Concept Awards

Budget and Costs

To fabricate your Original Concept Awards, plan on a minimum budget of $500 per award for 1-24 pieces, though discounts may be available for larger quantities.

Minimum Orders

You must order at least 3 pieces for fabrication. Consider ordering additional pieces for future years also to help ensure consistency over time.

Delivery & Lead Time

Please allow 1-2 weeks for us to create your Original Concept Award Design, depending on the complexity of your project. For fabricating your awards, please allow 8 - 12 weeks from the date of your artwork approval, plus a week of transit time for delivery. Rush services are not available for Original Concept Awards.

Materials

For Original Concept Awards, we only offer crystal and/or wood, timeless materials that people love to hold, feel and admire. As we are committed to avoiding plastics, we do not offer acrylic or lucite.

Payment

To begin the process, purchase the Original Concept Award Design Package online as this also serves as your deposit. Note that all Original Concept Awards are fully customized, which means they must be paid in full before we can begin production.

Original Concept Prototypes:

When developing a new award, it’s often helpful to produce an actual prototype to show how the award will actually look and feel. Producing an Original Concept prototype is charged at the quoted cost of the award, less 20%. Shipping is extra, and delivery lead time will be quoted at the time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the $500 initial fee still apply if we already have prepared drawings for our custom award design?

Yes, the full cost of the Original Concept Award Design Package would still apply because we have to review those plans to ensure they can realistically be fabricated and that they will look attractive. Designing for print or the web is different from designing awards since what may look good on screen, may in fact be difficult or impossible to fabricate with real world materials and processes. In addition to the aesthetics of the award, we will also need to take several other concerns and variables into consideration such as the stability and balance, the marking processes, and the nature of the materials being suggested for fabrication.

What if we don’t like the design concept that was created for us?

Our design concept will be based on our understanding of what you need and what is possible to fabricate with the materials we specialize in. To prevent this from happening, it is important to map out your vision as much as possible at the start and provide us with meaningful feedback to ensure that we are all on the page. We want to create a beautiful and meaningful award that you love and are proud of creating, so if our 5 free design revisions is not enough to get there, you may requested additional design revisions for $75 each.
